15-21 August 2015, Cape Town, South Africa
Theme:
Indigenous Literacy: beyond bilingual signage and collection development
Aligned with the Congress theme: Dynamic Libraries: Access, Development and Transformation, the Indigenous Matters SIG Open Session will focus on how libraries progress indigenous literacy within their workforce and work environment to support [a respectful recognition of] indigenous populations cultural identity and knowledge production and organization, online and offline, globally and within their communities.
The goal is to create a diverse programme of 4-6 speakers (10-15 min presentations) with an opportunity to mini workshop how libraries can further empower indigenous populations through their services, recruitment and library environment.
Help us make this a dynamic session by submitting a proposal for paper on a topic of your choice relating to the session theme.
