Webinar Video: Unveiling Open Science: Pathways to Transparency and Collaboration in Research
We were honored to feature Wendy Hoi Yan Wong, an IFLA Big Data SIG member, a member of the IFLA Open Science and Scholarship Advisory Committee (OSSAC), and Senior Assistant Librarian (Scholarly Communication) at the Pao Yue-kong Library of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, along with Reid Boehm, Research Data Systems Manager at Purdue University, as our distinguished speakers for the event. Attendees were able to gain valuable insights into the latest developments in Open Science within library services.
Participants also gleaned important understanding into how libraries can drive this shift towards inclusivity and how information professionals can advocate for and support Open Science initiatives. They discovered actionable strategies for embracing Open Science and enhancing global knowledge exchange.

Wendy Hoi-Yan Wong is the Senior Assistant Librarian (Scholarly Communication) at the Pao Yue-kong Library of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She was formerly the Research Data Librarian and CLIR Postdoctoral Fellow (Digital Scholarship) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Library. Wong has been responsible for establishing and providing research data service at the two Universities. She was awarded her Ph.D. degree in Music by CUHK and Master of Science in Library and Information Science by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Wong is currently a member of the Advisory Committee on Open Science and Scholarship and Big Data Special Interest Group at IFLA.
Reid Boehm is Research Data Systems Manager for Purdue University Libraries. She manages the Purdue University Research Repository, provides data management and sharing support for campus researchers, and works with collaborators and partners across campus in support of researchers. Reid earned a PhD in Information Science from the University of Tennessee and did a postdoctoral fellowship in data and software curation at the University of Notre Dame. Her research interest falls the intersection between the technical and human infrastructure for research data management, data repositories, and the study of interdisciplinary, collaborative networks.
