IFLA Evidence for Global and Disaster Health (E4GDH) Satellite Meeting

Date: Friday 25 August 2023 ¦ Location: Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

To address the increasingly urgent need to tackle the complex and interconnected climate challenges we face (disasters, water shortages, lack of safe drinking-water, food crisis, starvation) and accelerate global progress, science needs to be disseminated beyond borders and paywalls.

This IFLA satellite meeting will shine a light on the contributions to Open Science from library and information professionals in different sectors and geographies. We will come up with practical ideas on what more can be done by our profession, through our communities of practice, professional associations and local communities, to advance Open Science towards climate empowerment. Visit our Satellite Meeting webpages for more information.

The Satellite meeting agenda is a mixed format, including keynote plenary sessions, panel conversations and unconference sessions. The full programme will be made available shortly. Proposals to run interactive unconference sessions are welcome: Call for unconference sessions.

To broaden participation equitable pricing is offered for R4L A & B countries; applications are being accepted for up to six free places (application deadline Sunday, 4 June 2023). See Registration for details.

Registration is open – do join us, and consider submitting an unconference idea!
