Lyon Gallo-Roman Museum, 17 Rue Cleberg, 69005 Lyon, France.

The Conference will be held in the Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon on the Fourvière hill overlooking the city of Lyon. The Museum shows rich and famous antique collections and ruins. You will be able to visit its Roman amphitheater and have the best view of the city and the Rhone-Alps, only an hour's train ride away.

Conference Theme and Focus

The one day satellite meeting will focus on the processes which promote change management in the fluctuating environment that libraries face. It includes the tools that library managers can use and the methods they can adopt through Knowledge Management to make a success of this transition period.

Our objectives are:

  • To share best practices in change management of persons or contents
  • To experience KM tools which can guide change management
  • To learn methods of change management through feedback
  • To cope with our new professional environment the best way

Librarians, information professionals, researchers and others who experiment or foresee a change in their organizations using knowledge management tools are invited to submit proposals for presentation at the meeting.

Papers are requested to focus on the following topics:

  • Change management feedback
  • KM tools' uses in change management
  • Adaptation to new library trends using KM
  • Theoretical reflections in KM methods for change
  • KM methods to change human organization
  • KM methods to change management of contents

Proposals

If you are interested in contributing, please send:

  • An abstract of 300-500 words, in English, including a title.
  • An outline of the presentation.
  • A brief biographical notice of the author(s)/presenter(s) with information on current employment.
  • Submitter's mailing address.

The submissions will be reviewed by a program planning committee of the Knowledge Management Section Standing Committee.

The selection will be based on the abstracts and rated on how well they fit the program theme. Authors will be contacted by 15 March 2014.

Selection

For successful applicants the deadline for submission of full papers is 31 May 2014 to allow time to review the papers and all other organizational needs. The papers must be original submissions, not published elsewhere, and should be no longer than 15 pages, double spaced. Papers should be in English.

Presentations at the satellite meeting will be limited to approximately 20 minutes and will be a summary of the original paper. The presenter is encouraged to use PowerPoint.

The conference will be conducted in English and all presentations will be required to be in English.

Submissions

All proposals must be in before 28 February 2014.

All expenses, including registration for the conference, travel, accommodation etc., are the responsibility of the authors/presenters. No financial support can be provided by IFLA, but a special invitation can be issued to authors.
