Borås Public Library

Borås Public Library
The Cultural centre, where the public library is usually housed, is due to a major renovation and the library has moved to temporary locations at the old textile factory Borås Wäfveri. It is an exciting old building in the city centre on an island in river Viskan.

The Library and Learning Resource Centre at the University of Borås

The Library and Learning Resource Centre (LLR) at the University of Borås offers the University’s 12 000 students over 800 places for study as well as access to a number of support services ranging from information seeking instruction to student health care. The LLR has a total of 50 employees, of which about 20 are librarians. The modern and spacious Library facilities are an architectural experience built of glass and concrete. The building was completed in 2004 and consists of six floors.

Thursday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m, Saturday – Sunday closed

Mölnlycke LibraryMölnlycke Library
The Cultural Centre in Mölnlycke, with its bright, open and modern architecture, was inaugurated in 1990 and extended in 2007-2008. The Centre houses the municipality’s integrated central library and upper-secondary school library, auditoria, a café, premises for clubs and societies, and the Nemes Hall and the Art Passage for art exhibitions. Located on the first floor in the Cultural Centre are the Studio, the Art Shelf and offices for staff involved in recreational and cultural activities. Here one can experience the interaction between exciting architecture and a vibrant and active library. The activities of the children’s library and the school libraries are excellent and well developed.

Skara Public LibrarySkara Public Library
Skara is a medieval town situated in an old district rich in cultural traditions. The Diocesan and Regional Library of Skara possesses a large collection of books and older manuscripts, from the Middle Ages and onwards. The most renowned possession is the Skara Missal, a book from ca 1150 containing the order of service for the Roman Catholic Mass.  Other famous works include Isaac Newton’s Philosophiœ Naturalis Principia Mathematica. The collection of books from the 18th century stretches over more than 500 shelf metres. In addition to the older collections, the library also possesses sheet music, local history literature and archives, material for genealogical research and databases.
