Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning SectionCall for Papers for a Special Issue of Library ManagementThe Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning Section (CPDWL) of IFLA, in collaboration with Emerald Publishing, is inviting you to submit a paper on the topic of Workplace Training and Development to be published as a special issue of the journal, Library Management, in the second quarter of 2008. Library Management aims to publish articles of interest and value to senior managers and academics within the library and information profession by publishing papers which have been accepted by the Editor following double-blind review by two referees. The journal reflects the latest research undertaken in academic, government and corporate institutions by reporting contemporary thought, whilst also exploring practical implications for those involved in teaching and practice. The focus therefore is on theory into practice, that is papers which have a direct application to the world of work. Author GuidelinesArticles submitted to the journal should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. Authors submitting articles for publication warrant that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify the publisher against any breach of such warranty. For ease of dissemination and to ensure proper policing of use, papers and contributions become the legal copyright of the publisher unless otherwise agreed. For details of Emerald's editorial policy on plagiarism please view the Plagiarism in depth information. The editor may make use of iThenticate software for checking the orginality of submissions received. SubmissionsSubmissions should be sent by February 29, 2008 to: Sylvia Piggott The Special Issue FocusIn this special issue we wish to showcase examples of best practice in workplace training and staff development through both scholarly research and experiential and practical stories of success and failure (or limited success). Although proposals on any topic related to the theme Workplace Training and Development are welcome and will be considered, we are particularly interested in receiving proposals on any of the following key themes and issues:
