Stuart Brewer Scholarship Grant

A limited number of scholarship grants, each worth EUR 1500, for international participants from needful metropolitan libraries is available through the Metropolitan Libraries Section (MLS) to assist those wishing to attend the Annual Conference 2008 in Prague, Czech Republic but are unable to obtain funding from other sources.

The scholarship is named Stuart Brewer Scholarship Grant in memory of our late Information Coordinator. “Helping librarians to attend conference from countries who cannot afford to send them is a cause which he always supported. He firmly believed in widening and strengthening international links at the concrete, personal level, as well as through the communications media…” in a letter written by Pat Brewer, his widow, on 6 October 2005, giving consent to the Section to name the scholarship after Stuart Brewer.

Applicants should meet the following conditions:

  1. Must be working in a metropolitan library
  2. Must have a minimum of 5 years of library experience
  3. Must present a paper at the Annual Conference of the Metropolitan Libraries Section. The title and abstract of the paper together with a short background description of the presenter must accompany the application.
  4. A short write-up on how professionals in your library will benefit from your experience at the MLS Annual Conference is required

Applications are due 3 April 2008. They must be made on the prescribed form and sent to:
