Dear friends,

Welcome to our latest newsletter edition, where we are excited to share on the latest happenings and updates from the Asia and Oceania region and beyond!

In this edition, you will discover articles highlighting the impactful reading initiatives undertaken by libraries and organisations. Plus, you will get the latest update on the Congress of Southeast Asian Libraries (CONSAL), including a sneak peek on what the committee is doing in preparation for the upcoming CONSAL conference scheduled to take place from 17 to 19 June 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In other exciting news, gear up for the second half of the year with the upcoming IFLA General Assembly happening on 20 June 2024 as well as the upcoming IFLA Information Futures Summit, which will be held in Brisbane from 30 September – 2 October 2024. Early bird registration is now open until 1 June 2024 and participants who register by 15 May 2024 stand a chance to win a ticket to the next IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC)! For more information on the Information Summit, visit the website.

IFLA will be gathering feedback from members and volunteers regarding the WLIC in the upcoming months. Your inputs will enable the WLIC Review Steering Committee to adequately assess the news and views of members and volunteers so do keep an eye out for opportunities to share your feedback!

IFLA has recently released a resource featuring examples of library projects backed by major public and private funding sources. This list gives an idea of the private donors and public development agencies who have provided funding to libraries. You can find the initial list of organisations and funders on this site. The site also includes a survey link where you can submit more examples of library projects that have received support from public and private funders.
