Informed and Empowered Citizens in Asia-Pacific: Making the Case for Libraries at the UN

At the heart of success in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be resilience. Regions, countries, communities and individuals all need to have the resources – and the information – necessary to deal with a changing and unpredictable world. This was the key message from the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development, the second of five regional meetings on the SDGs in preparation for this year’s High Level Political Forum. IFLA was there.

IFLA joins forces with IBBY and ILA to increase literacy rates

IFLA will join forces with the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) and International Literacy Association (ILA) on Wednesday 28 March 2018 in Bologna, Italy and jointly sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work closely to increase literacy rates to 100 percent across the globe.

International Advocacy Programme (IAP): 14 projects selected

In August 2017, IFLA launched a worldwide second call for proposals to request funding for the implementation of regional or national awareness-raising and capacity building activities for 2017-2018, as part of the International Advocacy Programme (IAP). IFLA is pleased to announce the 14 selected projects.

IAP project proposals now under review
