WLIC 2016: Session 153 - Government and Parliamentary Libraries as innovators: supporting communities of practice

As part of the IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2016 (WLIC 2016), the Government Libraries and Library and Research Services for Parliaments Sections invite you to a two-hour session on communities of practice in Government and Parliamentary Libraries. The session will be held during WLIC 2016 on Tuesday 16 August, at 16:00 - 18:00.

Call for Papers: "Government and Parliamentary Libraries as Innovators: Supporting Communities of Practice"

The Government Libraries and Library and Research Services for Parliaments Sections invite proposals for papers to be presented at a two-hour programme in the next IFLA General Conference to be held on August 2016 in Columbus, Ohio, USA. We welcome proposals from individuals and organizations who can share innovative views, methods and current implementations regarding communities of practices in the context of libraries or Government/Parliamentary units. The deadline for submissions is 26 February 2016.​

Guidelines for Government Libraries: A Greek Version

IFLA Guidelines for Libraries of Government Departments We are glad to inform that a new translation of the 'Guidelines for Libraries of Government Departments' is already on-line on IFLA website. Our sincere thanks goes to the Greek translators, Ms Maria Monopoli and Ms Anna Mastora as well as IFLA publications and web team. In connection with this publication, we had the opportunity to promote it in front of an audience of librarians and officials working in the Greek government sector.

Government Libraries as Voices for Open Government: our session during WLIC 2013

A new IFLA World Library and Information Congress will be held in Singapore next month. We are glad to inform that we will be leading there a session focused on Open Government. It is open to all IFLA participants who wish to discuss the theme, its set of features and how could be applied on current information procedures in the government sector and as part of citizen services. The format will be flexible and interactive, including presentations and round tables.
