During the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), IFLA, together with TASCHA and Article 19, will hold a side event to present and analyse the findings of the first report of the Development and Access to Information (DA2I) project.

Alongside a formal launch at The New York Public Library on 17 July 2017, this event be an opportunity to hear about the report’s findings and messages, and discuss further how both to measure and increase the impact of access to information.

Making development smart and inclusive: How access to information can deliver the SDGs

The event will engage development practitioners, government representatives, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders participating of the HLPF in New York. It will help not only to disseminate the findings of the report but help to improve future editions. 

This side event will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (Conference Room E), on Tuesday 11 July 2017, from 8:15 to 9:30 am. Please note that UN-Ground Passes are needed to attend this event. Unfortunately, IFLA is unable to provide them. More information can be found on the HLPF website.

About the Development and Access to Information (DA2I) Report

DA2I is a project of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), in partnership with the Technology & Social Change Group (TASCHA) at the University of Washington Information School. It demonstrates how access to information and libraries contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
