Description

The second Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development will take place on 18-20 April 2018, with a special day for civil society organisations on 17 April. IFLA will be represented by Adriana Cybele Ferrari (Brazil), Jonathan Hernández-Pérez (Mexico, Associate of IFLA's International Leaders Programme) and Maria Violeta Bertolini, Advocacy Communications Officer at IFLA HQ.

The Forum will provide an opportunity to discuss progress towards achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals in the region, and send key messages to the global gathering of ministers and experts in New York in July.

IFLA will be participating in a side-event kindly hosted by the library of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on the need for meaningful access to information to achieve sustainable development, and the unique role of libraries in delivering this.

Find out more about IFLA's work on libraries and development, and follow us during the event on Twitter and Facebook.
