Last year, IFLA's Governing Board drafted a Strategic Plan for 2010-2015. This plan sets out IFLA's Strategic Directions and Priority Activities for the long term. Each IFLA Professional Unit has its own Action Plan and has recently indicated which of their activities closely connects with the overall Strategic Plan for IFLA.

Sjoerd KoopmanSome of you already may have noticed: this years’ installment of the IFLA World Library and Information Congress is missing one of its most valuable attendees, supporters, coordinators and congress dancers: Sjoerd Koopman, IFLA HQ’s  Professional Programmes Director and Mister IFLA in person for many of our members from the international library world. The reason though, is a happy one, since on the 1st of August Sjoerd Koopman left IFLA to enjoy a much deserved and hopefully long and enjoyable retirement.
