Advisory Committees

Under the new Governance Structure, IFLA will have four Advisory Committees. These are the Advisory Committee on Copyright and other Legal Matters, the Advisory Committee on Cultural Heritage, the Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression and the Advisory Committee on Standards. They each report to the Governing Board providing practical advice in the Committee’s area of expertise and responding to relevant questions and requests.

Each committee works to raise awareness of their areas of expertise inside the library field and beyond, cooperating with other committees and groups where needed. They monitor the status of relevant issues around the world and highlight situations where IFLA may wish to get involved.

If you have the experience, expertise and enthusiasm to contribute to IFLA’s work in these key areas that impact our profession, we invite you to read more about the expectations for each of these positions and the nomination process.
