18th Conference of Southeast Asian Librarians
Under the theme ‚Libraries united – rising to the challenge‘, the 18th meeting of the Conference of Southeast Asian Librarians takes place on 29-30 November. It is organised virtually by Cambodia.
The conference brings together colleagues from across the region in order to hear experience and insights, with a strong emphasis on drawing conclusions and learning lessons from the pandemic.
The programme is built around different challenges faced by the field, and how libraries are meeting these, in particular those related to internationalisation, and digital, social, people and heritage challenges.
IFLA will be speaking on the topic: From reacting to acting – changing how we think about ourselves in the light of COVID-19, drawing on the insights shared by librarians themselves in the past few years, and in particular by the emerging leaders who participated in the World Library and Information Congress 2022.
We’re also thrilled that two IFLA collaborators, Dr Nor Edzan Nasir (Malaysia) and Myat Sann Nyein (Myanmar) are receiving awards in the context of the Conference.
