The International Congress of Medical Librarianship (ICML) and the Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa (AHILA) are pleased to invite you to the ICML + AHILA Congress 2022 which will be coming to the African continent for the first time. The congress will be held from 15-19 March 2022 both virtually and in-person in Gauteng, South Africa. It brings together medical librarians and other health information professionals, academics, researchers, and others from related disciplines.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes that health is directly or indirectly linked to all of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With less than ten years to achieve the UN SDGs, the congress’ joint theme “A call for action: Engaging to save lives”, reflects the contributions that medical librarians and other information professionals are making to achieve global health goals by connecting, engaging, and ultimately improving health and saving lives.

The IFLA Health and Biosciences Section is a valued partner providing professional support for the Congress, serving on the International Planning Committee and various subcommittees. HBS section members are also presenting research at the Congress, including Feili Tu Keefner who will present on COVID-19 health information understandability by general public users.

Congress information and registration can be found at https://icml2022.org/index.html.
