“Empowering communities: The impact of volunteering in the library field” is part of the “New Librarians Global Connection: Best practices, models and recommendations” series which has been hosted by NPSIG and CPDWL since 2012. These free webinar series are on topics of interest to new librarians, models of library associations and library schools working with new professionals, and groups by and for librarians.

December 5th is International Volunteer Day. Many librarians around the world give time and efforts to library associations to coordinate programs, resources, and spaces. To celebrate International Volunteer Day and highlight the effort and dedicated work of volunteers in support of their associations and libraries, NPSIG and CPDWL are hosting a free webinar.

Our webinar is on 5 Dec at 13:00 UTC (14:00 CET) with Barbara Lison, IFLA’s past president as our keynote speaker. We have a fun discussion planned and other speakers will talk about their experience volunteering in libraries or the impact of the volunteers’ work on the success of their library associations. Join us and lets celebrate International Volunteer Day together!

Register for the webinar.

This webinar is co-organized by the IFLA Continuing Professional Development and Workforce Learning (CPDWL) Section and New Professionals Special Interest Group (NPSIG).
