The Preservation and Conservation (PAC) Centre hosted at Qatar National Library presents the first event in the Watermarks Lecture Series: Watermarks: their semantics, shapes, classification and locations on surface of paper.

This lecture sheds light on the forms of watermarks, their classification and the meanings of these forms. Are they symbols that have messages or just letters and drawings selected by paper makers? Sub-watermarks that appeared in the 10th century AH will also be discussed, as well as the the countries that used watermarks and the forms used in these countries.
