In addition, an International Advocacy Seminar on “Transformation and Empowerment of Libraries in Latin America and the Caribbean” will be held on March 1 at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras.

The purpose of the seminar is to promote discussions on advocacy strategies for libraries, disseminate successful experiences regarding the transformation and empowerment of library services in recent years, and highlight experiences of regional library activism.

It also offers an opportunity to continue talking about the future of our libraries, understanding that resilience and leadership are key characteristics for institutions that, like our societies, are constantly changing and facing new challenges.

This meeting brings together international leaders from our professional field and is intended for the entire Latin American and Caribbean library community.
