Management & Marketing meet in Lima – Peru

Standing Committee members will meet in March 4-8 2024

The Management and Marketing Section Standing Committee will hold an in-presence Mid-Term Business Meeting in Lima – Peru from March 4th – 8th. After four years, the Section resumes its activities in presence and this year the meeting will be a great opportunity to share with Peruvian colleagues, looking forward to strengthening the relations with the regional library community.

The visiting delegation is made up of:

  • Nick Boxem, Manager of Strategic Intelligence Government of The Netherlands – Netherlands 
  • Jeannie Bail, Liaison Librarian, Faculty of Management and Renaissance College – University of New Brunswick Libraries – Canada
  • Krista Visas, Director, Pärnu Central Library – Estonia
  • Harriet Darcel, Head of Marketing, British Library – United Kingdom
  • Anya Feltreuter, Head of Department – Linköping University Library – Sweden
  • Christie Koontz, Library Marketing Professor – Florida State University – United States of America
  • Cathelijne Kuiters, Strategisch adviseur marketing -Koninklijke Bibliotheek – Netherlands

The meeting will be host by BRITANICO Library, the library of the Asociación Cultural Peruano Británica – BRITANICO, one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in Peru, and an agenda full of sharing experiences and learning has been prepared for the occasion.

During the week, the Standing Committee delegation will be working on:

  • Deliberating the IFLA PressReader International Marketing Award
  • Meeting with Peruvian LIS Education Programs Universities (more info here),
  • Also working on the annual action plan among the different M&M Working groups,
  • Visiting libraries and
  • A full Open Day Sessions with an interchange of experiences between M&M members and Peruvian librarians regarding to management and marketing practices seeking opportunities for developing and sustainable collaboration (more info here).

The Section specially invites the library community to the Open Day Sessions as it will be a hybrid live- event for those who want to join online in a Webinar session.
