New convenor for NPSIG
11 January 2010
This year starts good, very good actually. We have a new convenor for our Special Interest Group!
Sebastian Wilke is a student at the Berlin School of Library and Information Science, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Germany.
He participated in the 2009 Frankfurt Bookfair as one of the initiators
of LIS-Corner, the first cooperative presence of German LIS schools at the Frankfurt Bookfair. The
student-run booth gives students from German LIS programs the
opportunity to showcase the broad variety of projects they are working
on as newcomers in the LIS field. He also participated in the 17th BOBCATSSS-symposium in Porto, Portugal with a paper titled “Diversity Management as a Key Challenge to the Library in the Multicultural Society”, and presented a poster “Connecting Young Information Professionals”.
Additionally, this year Sebastian completed Internships in the music sections of the Library of Congress and the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. He has professional experience not only in Germany but in other countries which is great to work with new professionals from different regions of the world.
Sebastian is interested in new professionals, music libraries, web2.0, librarianship and international relations, project management, and multicultural library work.

We wish him all the best and a lot of fun for his upcoming work.
And a happy new year to all of you!
