New report from National Diet Library of Japan: The Great East Japan Earthquake and Libraries

The Kansai-kan of the National Diet Library of Japan annually carries out research projects on library and information science. This year we conducted a survey on the theme of the Great East Japan Earthquake and libraries, and published the first-ever full-scale research report on the subject. The 350+ page report broadly covers information related to the earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011 and libraries in Japan.

11 March 2011 to mid-March 2012
Contents
Information on damage and reconstruction of libraries, related support activities, activities for preserving earthquake records and experiences are collected and also include:
- Pictures and maps of libraries damaged by tsunami and earthquake
- Timeline of the disaster and movement of the central and local governments and libraries
- Events and Statistical information
- Articles by librarians & researchers
