Now available: IFLA Global Vision materials for self-facilitated discussions
18 May 2017
We are pleased to announce the availability of a resource package for self-facilitated discussions under IFLA’s Global Vision. This material will help bring together thousands of representatives of the library field worldwide to explore how a connected library field can meet the challenges of the future. Now it’s your turn!
Become a part of the global brainstorm: host a self-organised workshop!
We believe that creating a global vision for a united library field will help achieve one of the true potentials of libraries: to build literate, informed and participative societies.
IFLA is facilitating this global discussion through a series of high-level meetings and workshops in different parts of the world following a kick-off event in Athens, Greece on 4 April 2017. Face-to-face and online, future-oriented conversations will be taking place throughout the year.
Now that our six regional workshops are underway, we’d like to help support your activities for your own, self-organised Global Vision workshops.
These workshops will be key elements that will inform the next phase of the Global Vision project: the launch of online voting during this year's WLIC in Wrocław, Poland.
With this release, we are now making available:
- Guidelines for Facilitators
- Guidelines for Organizers
- Communications materials
You’ll also find examples of draft communications to use in your own campaigns, but you are encouraged to be creative and adaptive to better meet the needs of your specific regional community.
Let the world know about your engagement! Take a photo with the claim “Together we create the future” in your own language and upload it on your Instagram account using the #iflaGlobalVision hashtag.
This material will soon be available in the other six official IFLA languages: Spanish, French, German, Russian, Arabic and Chinese.
