Library Services to People with Special Needs Section joint with Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section invite presenters from a wide range of countries to discuss how to promote inclusive library services for children and young adults, leaving no one behind, in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Everyone Has a Right to Access to Information: IFLA Presents Research on Libraries' Actions for Accessibility at the UN

Providing access to information, and in particular libraries, is key to making for inclusive and sustainable development, IFLA therefore surveyed its members to establish whether libraries had policies – or programmes – in place. The results were presented in New York, at a meeting on 13-15 November by Nancy Bolt, a member of the Section on Library Services to People with Special Needs.

The Best practice (Annex A) and Knowledge base (Annex B) of the IFLA Guidelines for Library Services to Persons with Dyslexia are now updated.

New Guidelines for Library Services to Persons with Dyslexia now published

The guidelines are a revision and expansion of the previous guidelines published by IFLA in 2001. We expect them to be a valuable tool for library staff who are responsible for serving persons with reading and learning difficulties.
