For Development Information Day 2022, IFLA has released a statement on evidence for sustainable development, underlining the need for governments to engage libraries in their efforts to ensure that their decision-making is based on knowledge.
In 2022, Global MIL Week, hosted by Nigeria, will focus is on MIL’s role in nurturing trust, advancing social protection, and encouraging collective solidarity, to be explored through the theme, “Nurturing trust: A Media and Information Literacy Imperative”.

To mark International Literacy Day 2022, we’re taking a look at the work done by libraries in Indonesia in order to help the over 8.5 million people lacking basic literacy skills there to develop the capacities they need to participate fully in the knowledge society.
IFLA has participated for the first time in a G20 related summit, the Urban 20 summit, held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
