It is IFLA’s Members who drive the process of nominating and electing the people who lead our Federation at every level. IFLA relies on them, both to nominate great candidates for the different roles and committees across the Federation, and then to democratically elect them.

The ability to nominate can be a powerful means of giving yourself or your colleagues the opportunity to serve on international committees, learning and sharing from peers around the world.

In turn, we count on nominations of energetic, insightful and focused volunteers to allow IFLA to realise its potential as a space for discussion, and a source of research, guidelines, standards and advocacy tools for the field.

IFLA’s elections take place every two years, with IFLA’s Members choosing the best candidates for leadership roles across our organisation. Further information about IFLA’s Elections can be found on the Elections page.
