The IFLA Environment, Sustainability and Libraries Section together with the Public Libraries Section in collaboration with De Bibliotheek LocHal are excited to host a satellite conference prior to the IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2023 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
ENSULIB has created a template [in ppt] for a "What is a Green Library?" poster. This is intended for use by all kinds of libraries, and can be translated into your own language.
We would like to invite everyone to share their stories /articles / announcements with ENSULIB for publication in our forthcoming newsletter.

This presentation explores how reflective practice can be used to share the impact of Library services using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework. Emilia and Carmel share examples of the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) Library’s approach to reflection as a key part of evidence-based practice.
The application deadline for the IFLA Green Library Award 2023 has been extended to 14 March 2023. The call for submissions is still open.
We are glad to inform that the definition from the IFLA ENSULIB Section "What is a Green Library?" is now available in 25 languages:
IFLA’s Environment, Sustainability and Libraries Section publishes its official newsletter twice a year, which reviews ENSULIB’s activities and achievements and provides a platform for presenting interesting stories, events or projects from libraries all over the world, that follow a clear green and sustainable commitment.
Any type of Green Library or library with an outstanding Green Library Project may apply for the IFLA Green Library Award. Libraries with a small budget but a great impact are explicitly invited to participate in the competition!

“Making the future yourself!” was the motto of this year’s Sustainability Days, organised by “SUSTAIN IT!” – the initiative for sustainability and climate protection.
Under the motto “Inspired and Engaged on Sustainability” the IFLA Environment, Sustainability and Libraries Section (ENSULIB) with the Management and Marketing Section (M&M) and the Preservation and Conservation Section (P&C) held a Satellite meeting from 22–23 July 2022.
