Copyright education at your fingertips - Navigating Copyright for Libraries: Purpose and Scope
15 May 2024In 2022, the CLM produced the fully open-access book, Navigating Copyright for Libraries: Purpose and Scope - IFLA Publication 181. The book is arranged in four sections with individual chapters authored by world-class experts in copyright and libraries in the international context.
2024 Development and Access to Information (DA2I) Report launched
15 May 2024IFLA, working with the Technology and Social Change Group at the University of Washington, and with support from Stichting IFLA Global Libraries (SIGL) today launches the 2024 Development and Access to Information Report. This highlights uneven progress in delivering meaningful access, with advances in connectivity not matched by the spread of rights, equity and skills. In parallel, we need both better adapted laws, and investment in libraries to turn this access into success in delivering on the SDGs.

9th IFLA Green Library Award: ENSULIB Announces the Top Eight Green Libraries and Green Library Projects 2024
13 May 2024With generous sponsorship from De Gruyter Publishing (Boston/Berlin), ENSULIB circulated a Call for Submissions for the IFLA Green Library Award for the ninth year in a row. Any type of green library, or outstanding green library project, initiative or idea was invited to apply for the Award. Libraries with a small budget but a great impact were explicitly invited to participate in the competition.

7 May 2024NLB has been working with public and private partners since April 2023 to explore innovative ways of leveraging technologies to engage our patrons in Singapore stories and connect them to our rich history. One such approach is the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) for new ways that our users can engage with Singapore content and foster stronger connections to our history. These endeavours also contribute to Singapore's approach of using “AI for the Public Good”, where technologies, including AI, can be used as a transformational force for good.
